To be clear, absolutely no activity or event should be conducted in the name of Kappa Delta, or where any reasonable person would conclude the activity was connected to Kappa Delta. Members are not allowed to participate in any campus events or activities as representatives of Kappa Delta. Members may not post or repost on or to chapter social media accounts.
  • Hazing Prevention Action Plan – Your organization is required to complete an “action plan” as developed through undergoing an internal review of chapter risk management policies, as they relate to both The College of New Jersey and your (Inter) national organization. This review shall be conducted under the direction of Assistant Director for Student Life: Fraternity and Sorority Life and in conjunction with your organization. All chapter membership will be included in this review. This “action plan” should:
    • detail reasonable steps that the chapter will follow in order to become compliant with the risk management policies of both The College of New Jersey, and Kappa Delta Sorority
    • include a reasonable timeline with measurable goals and indicators of success
    • Address the issues that constituted violations of policy (i.e., hazing behaviors, presence of alcohol during New Member events, providing an accurate calendar of events to TCNJ staff, etc.), and (1) develop a plan to address those issues with your organization’s current members, and (2) demonstrate tangible steps to continue a tradition/culture of anti-hazing and/or hazing prevention behaviors.
    • The action plan must be submitted by December 20, 2024 via email to conduct@tcnj.edu. Failure to complete the action plan or meet the goals within the timeline may result in subsequent charges, sanctions, or restrictions as determined by the Assistant Director for Student Life: Fraternity and Sorority Life, Assistant Director for Student Life: Student Involvement, and/or the Assistant Director of Student Conduct.
  • Conflict Management Workshop – Your organization is required to participate in a Conflict Management Workshop offered through TCNJ’s Office of Student Conduct & Off-Campus Services. Based on the Thomas-Kilman Mode Instrument, the Conflict Management Workshop will focus on re-framing the way one looks at conflict, identifying several styles of conflict management that can be utilized based on the appropriateness of the situation, and learning where one’s strengths and weaknesses lie regards to utilizing different styles of conflict management. This must be completed by September 27, 2024.
  • Alcohol & Other Drug Support Services “Adulting for the Recently Liberated” Program – Your organization will participate in a two-session education program regarding alcohol and other drugs. These must be completed by December 20, 2024. The sessions will be conducted as follows:
    • Session 1 (open to all members): Members of the organization will participate in the Adulting for the Recently Liberated (ARL) program. ARL engages students in a conversation about alcohol and other drugs that acknowledges their status as emerging adults and their ability to make their own choices, including for some, the choice to consume substances. This conversation helps students explore their own personal and organizations values, understand lower versus higher risk behaviors, and strategies that they can employ as a community to support healthy and life affirming choices. The organization will identify ways as a community they can (1) encourage lower-risk consumption; (2) increase safety; (3) creating space for those who don’t use; and (4) supporting mental health and recovery.
    • Session 2 (open to students in leadership positions): The second part of this program will consist of a meeting between the organization’s leadership (executive board, SET leaders, and Senior Sages) and Alcohol and Drug Support Services to further develop their plan to implement the strategies identified in the ARL presentation. This meeting will focus on risk management practices that further support the organizations values and that promotes the development of a community that looks out for one another.
  • New member activities during the 2024-2025 Academic Year are required to take place in on-campus locations only. When planning New Member activities for the 2024-2025 Academic Year, please coordinate with the Assistant Director for Student Life: Fraternity and Sorority Life, as appropriate in order to reserve on-campus spaces. This must be completed by May 16, 2025.
